I have to say, in all the years I've had this clock radio, I haven't tried the weather alert yet. It's a nice radio/alarm clock. I've had my Sony ICF-C153V for about 5 years now. Since we now live in Georgia, I plan on giving it a try. I've had no trouble with it. My only complaint is the same point another reviewer made: it needs battery backup. I do hope, however, the power does not go out during an alert. Also if the power goes out, you have to redo the time, the alarm clock setting and preset radio stations, and that could be avoided if there was battery backup.
This was a gift for my granddaughter who is 8. She loves it because shewanted her own alarm clock and now she can get stations she couldn't get onher radio too. It was a hit and something she won't outgrown in a year or two. Also like the compact size of it.
This is a great clock radio at a good price. The vendor delivered before the due date and in the condition described. I would do business with this vendor again.
I needed a new radio for my barn and this one is perfect: it is small, has preset buttons making it easy to change stations, it has am/fm, tv and weather - all features I was delighted to find in one unit. The fidelity is more than fine for this application. The only improvement would be a little more volume but it's fine for a closed room.
So, of course, I bought another one almost identical to it. I had one of these for years and liked it. I LISTEN to TV to go to sleep. Forgot about not being able to get the tv part of it after Febr of next year. Until that time, I would give it 4 stars.
